Sunrise Sailing Z-Fold Birthday Card

In my last post I said I would post the card I made for my husband’s birthday. I made him a Z-fold card using the Sunrise Sailing bundle, #165497. I love the way this card turned out. He’s not a sailor, but he really liked the card.

This bundle is has a hybrid embossing folder which means the dies and embosing folder work together. You can emboss and cut pieces out at the same time. The pieces you cut out will have texture to them. You can using the dies and embossing folder individually too. I used the embossing folder on the front of this card. I used both the embossing folder and the dies to texture and cut out the boat and sails on the front of the card. Then, I only used the dies to cut out the smaller boat on the inside of the card. This was my first time using a hybrid embossing folder with dies. After I tried it, I was like – why did I wait to long to get one of these??? If you haven’t gotten any, you should try them — they are so fun! I lightly drug my craft white ink over the clouds to give them a bit of definition, then I used a blending brush with some misty moonlight ink over the water waves to highlight them.

Hugs & Healing Get Well Card

There is a new get well soon stamp set on the scene, and it incorporates two of my favorite things! Dogs and cats! Yay!! We created this card in my June Stamp Club. I love it and I’ve already sent it to a someone dear who recently had surgery. If you like to color or want to trying coloring with Stampin’ Blends, this is a good stamp set for you to try out. I don’t color much, I tend to highlight rather than color. But, I love this set!

I used Lost Lagoon CS as my card base and my layering base. Basic white for my stamped later and base layer for the Everyday Happiness DSP triangles. I stamped the dogs/cat in Gray Granite and added color highlights with light Lost Lagoon and light Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blends. I added a little simmer to the ice pack, thermometer, and dog tag with a bit of Wink of Stella. I added Wink of Stella to the animal noses after I colord them with the stampin blend. I had some retired Lost Lagoon ribbon and coordinating retird gems from the Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels collection to add a little pop to the front of the card.

Supplies used on this card:

Hugs & Healing Cling Stamp Set, #165518; Everyday Happiness DSP, #166632; Lost Lagoon CS, #133679; Basic White CS, #166780; Gray Granite Classic Stampin’ Pad, #147118; Pretty Peacock Classic Stampin’ Pad, #150083; Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack, #161680; Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack, #161675; Wink of Stella Brush, #141897. Retired products used: Lost Lagoon Ribbon, #161171 and Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels, #159396.

Definitely up next is the birthday card I made for my husband using the Sunrise Sailing bundle.

Multi-purpose Multi-pillar Card

Hi everyone!!! I know, I know, it’s been like forever since I have posted. I’ve mostly been posting on my Donna’s Love at First Stamp Facebook page. I thought I’d better make it over to my blog before I lose all of my followers.

Anyways, enough of that…on to the important stuff. 😊 I made a card yesterday for my cousin. She retired from her job on 1 July and yesterday (12 July) was her birthday. She had a combo Happy Retirement and Happy Birthday party. Since I delivered this card in person I decided to “enlarge” it. Boy did I! It’s 5″ x 7″, but it is thick, thick, thick!! I didn’t add any extra gems, which is really surprising for me…I love my gems. 💎 The gold in the card adds enough umph to the card, without needing to add more.

I truly hope you enjoy it. If you would like the measurements, please let me know.

I used the following Stampin’ Up! supplies:

Wildflower Birthday DSP, #164591; Birthday Celebration Photopolymer Stamp Set, #164592; Birthday Celebration Dies, #164598; Everyday Arches Dies, #164629; Pool Party CS, #122924; Blueberry Buchel Classic Stampin’ Pad, #147148; and retired stamp sets – Gone Fishing, #161535 and Happy Birthday Gorgeous, #143662.

I loved creating this card! I flew by the seat of my pants on a few of the measurements, but in the end I think it worked out beautifully. My cousin really liked it and that is what mattered the most ❤️

Happy Stamping Everyone!!! 💕 Donna

Trust in the Lord Card

Do you ever use a color wheel when crafting? Bubble Bath and Old Olive are opposites on the color wheel, so why not marry them up. Opposites do attract – right, although in marriages they don’t always do well. In this lovely card, they get on quite well.

I also married up three stamp sets – Spotlight on Nature, You are Beautiful and the new Faith Collection. The flower is from Spotlight on Nature, the cross from the Faith Collection and the beautiful sentiment from the You are Beautiful set. I lightly colored in the flower with bubble bath and old olive light blends. I stamped the flower and the cross in Pecan Pie. When stamping the cross, I did stamp off once to give it a lighter effect. I added a few bubble bath pearls (unfortunately retired) as embellishments. On the interior I stamped the flower again and added a praying for you sentiment. A quick and easy card!

I’m working on a birthday card today too. I’ll post it later after I give it to my friend…

Happy Stamping Everyone!!! Donna 🙂

Time Stops for no One

Where has time gone? I can’t believe I haven’t posted on my blog since last summer. I began a new venture…not crafting, deepening my walk with God. I’ve been a person of faith for many years and have been involved with Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) for seven years. This year God decided to put me out of my comfort zone and placed me in a position to become a BSF group leader. It has been an amazing shift in my life. I am still a BSF leader, now that I am more settled into my new role I’m squeaking a little more craft time into my life. 🙂

I posted a poll on Facebook asking what time of card would everyone like to see – Faith based, Valentine’s or Birthday. Tomorrow I will post a faith based card, so please come back tomorrow afternoon to see my lasted creation!

Happy Stamping Everyone! Donna
