Sympathy Cards

More Sympathy Cards…Two and Three

Hi Everyone! I mentioned in my last post I’ve had to make several sympathy cards lately. All three cards are posted on my Facebook page Donna’s Love at First Stamp. On this post are cards two and three. I made the first card as a trifold fun fold card, and the second is a regular fold card using embossing, dies, and Stampin’ Write Markers to stamp the flowers on the card.

The trifold card is a monotone card in Pretty Peacock. I used the Layered Florals 3D Emobossing folder and Hello, Irresistible 6″x6″ DSP to decorate the card. I had a bit of shimmer paint leftover from another craft project I had made, so I dry stippled it over the embossed flowers for just a hint of shimmer. I used the Thoughtful Expressions stamps and dies to stamp and cut out the flowers. I went over the flowers with a bit of Wink of Stella, then using a Q-tip softly colored them in with Soft Pastels.

My last sympathy card is not a fun fold, although I think it’s just as interesting. This card was a color combination of Moody Mauve, Basic White, and Pretty Peacock. I used the retiring Basic Borders Dies and the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder to give this card lots of texture and personality. I stamped off the leaf in Pretty Peacock. The flower from the Inked and Tiled stamp set was stamped by using a Pretty Peacock and Moody Mauve Stampin’ Write Marker on the stamp, then stamped it onto the paper. I finished off the front with a few 2023-2025 In Color Dots in Moody Mauve. I used the same technique for stamping off the leave on the interior, as well as the marker technique for the flower stamp on the interior and the envelope.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my cards today. I pray I do not need to create any more sympathy cards for awhile. As always, Happy Stamping! If you like my cards, please drop me a like/comment. Also, like my facebook page Donna’s Love at First Stamp.

Happy Stamping everyone! Donna 🙂

Hello Softly Stippled Card

Most of you know I love fun fold cards. However, today I bring you a a standard fold card. I think you will love it! I am absolutely loving the sale-a-bration Softly Stippled designer series paper. My last card featured shades of pebbled path with sponged color. This card is lighter and brighter, focusing on Lost Lagoon and Wild Wheat.

This is a super easy card to make and it includes a few unexpected techniques. To give your card that little something, something think of embossing folders and wink of stella. Add a little ribbon and tinsel gems for a finishing touch to create the sweetest hello card.

Project Tutorial:

Fold the card base and burnish the fold with a bone folder

Use Stampin’ Cut Emboss Machine (Standard for embossing folder) (Standard or mini for cropping)

  • Wild Wheat DSP place in the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder so the raised embossed finish will be on the colored side of the DSP and run through the embossing machine
  • Basic White – 2″ x 1-1/2″ crop using the smalled rectangle in the Nested Essentials Dies

Stamp the rectangle using a “C” size clear block with the Hello sentiment (Heartfelt Hellos Cling Stamp Set) in Wild Wheat Classic Ink.

Stamp the basic white CS card interior using a “D” size clear block with the sentiment (Heartfelt Hexagon Photopolymer Stamp Set) – once stamped adhere the 2 pieces of DSP to the top and bottom with the Basic White Cardstock. Then adhere to interior of card

*Hot Tip: Brush Wink of Stella over the embossed Wild Wheat DSP to give the paper a bit of sparkly simmer, then adhere the DSP to the card base card front with your choice of Stampin’ Seal or “green glue” Tombow Multiuse glue

Adhere the 2 pieces of 2-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ Lost Lagoon and Floral DSP together at a mismatched angle. Wrap Lost Lagoon Bordered Ribbon around approximated 1/2 to 2/3 way down paper and tie in a bow on the front. **Hot Tip: Brush Wink of Stella over ribbon and bow to add a little simmer to the ribbon

Adhere the retangle Hello die cut above the bow using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finish card by embellishing with three Lost Lagoon Tinsel Gems

To give a final finishing punch! Adhere the Wild Wheat/Lost Lagoon Softly Stippled DSP to the envelope flap and fussy cut to fit

Happy Stamping Everyone! I really hope you enjoyed today’s card! Donna

World Card Making Day

World Card Making Day

Stampin’ Up! hosted an on-line World Card Making Day event today. While I didn’t have the stamp sets that were used in the event. I did make two cards using the same cardstock, card layouts, and a variation of the punches, and stamps.

All products I used are Stampin’ Up! products and the colors used are Azure Blue, Berry Burst, Lemon Lolly, Lemon Lime Twist, and Basic White. I used the 2-3/8″ circle punch, the new Modern Oval punch, and the Handmade Tag punch. I used sentiment stamps from the Inked & Tiled stamp set and stamped the background floral using the Translucent Florals stamp set for the card on the left. The card on the right was stamped using the Crafting With You stamp set. Embellishments on both are from the Tinsel Gems four pack. Both cards are super simple to stamp and recreate. Have fun re-creating these or other simple cards for world card making day.
