Majestic Fun Fold Meets Unbounded Beauty

Hi Happy Stampers! Today I have not just one, but two cards for you! Since the new catty came out, I have just been obsessed with using the Unbounded Beauty DSP. I am also infatuated with this fun fold card technique. The orginator of this fun is Susan Campfield. Since I watched her video several weeks ago, I have tweaked the fold a bit & it is so easy to create. I think I may even use it in my beginner class next month. Take a peek at the card I made yesterday while I was zoom Stamping with Kim’s Creative Stampede…

I only used stamps and DSP from the Unbounded Beauty Suite, ##163390; Perennial Postage Dies, #162607; Summer Splash CS, #163797; Basic White CS, #159276; Summer Splash Ink, #163809; Petunia Pop ink, #163811, and Petunia Pop 3/8″ Bordered Ribbon, #163785

The second card I made on Saturday. I used Pretty in Pink as my primary color and ran a couple of the basic white panels though my embossing machine using the Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder, #162935.

I used the Unbounded Beauty Suite for this card too. I also used stamps from the Heartfelt Hexagon set, #162882; Lifetime of Love, #162574; Pretty in Pink CS, #163793; Basic White; Petunia Pop Ink; Pretty in Pink Ink, #163807, Pretty in Pink Ribbon, #163784, and 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems, #163781.

Cutting Dimensions for these cards are very similiar:

  • Card Base – Cut CS to 5-1/2′ x 8″, score at 1-7/8″, 3-3/4″, 4-1/4″, and 6-1/8″
  • Panels – On Card 1 – I used 2 coordinating DSPs. I cut 4 of the larger Floral plus 2 center panels, 2 panels in other DSP, and 2 panels in Basic White. On Card 2 I used 2 coordinating DSPs – 2 panels of each DSP, only 1 little center panel DSP, and 4 basic white panels – 2 of which I embossed
    • Panels are cut at 1-5/8″ x 5-1/4″, Center panels cut to 3/8″ x 5-1/4″
  • Scrap Summer Splash CS and Basic White CS to die cut desired center shape for the front of the card. Center piece (after stamping sentiment) is adhered using 3 dimensionals.
  • I fastened the ribbon using glue dots prior to adhering to the center dimensionals.

I hope you have enjoyed today’s cards and the Unbounded Beauty DSP. Happy Stamping everyone! Donna 🙂

#Fun Fold

Unbounded Beauty Front Flip Fun Fold

Hi Stampers!

I had a beginner card class today, and this fun fold is one of the cards we created today. I wanted to incorporate a simple fun fold in the mix for this class. This easy front flip fun fold was a hit. Everyone loved making this card!

I used one of Stampin’ Up!’s newest Suite Collections. It’s called the Unbounded Beauty Suite Collection. I love this suite! The DSP has all five of the new 2024-2026 In-Colors in it. It also comes with two, yes, two stamp & die bundles. In-Color Glimmer paper and In-Color Resin Dots finish off this wonderful colleciton. All the ladies in my class absolutely loved the fresh colors in the DSP.

Here’s what I used to create this card and the cutting dimensions:

  • Petunia Pop CS – Cut 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, score at 4-1/4″. Then measure the top flap to 1-1/4″ & cut to the score line, measure to 4-1/4 & cut to the score line (the top fold sections should measure left side – 1-1/4″, middle – 3″, and right side – 1-1/4″). Using green glue, glue the two side flaps down onto the botton flap. The middle flap remains free.
  • Basic White CS – cut one piece 1-3/8″ x 3-1/8″ (for the front of card) and one piece 2-3/4″ x 4″ for the inside under the flap
  • DSP – I used a patterned piece and cut so the pattern continued along the front of the card. Cut 5″ x 4″ – then cut into 1″, 2-3/4″, and 1″ widths (the length is already 4″)
  • Summer Splash In-Color Glimmer paper and the Unbounded Love dies – I used my Stampin’ Cut & Embossing maching to cut out the leave frame and the double leaf.
  • Stamp the smaller basic white CS using Petunia Pop ink with your sentiment and the larger piece with the interior sentiment. Attach the leaf frame to the smaller CS piece using either glue dots or a tape runner. I ran my Stampin’ Seal over the frame and attached it to the CS. Then I added the double leaf to the larger Basic White CS in the same way.
  • I attached the front sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals and glued the interior piece with green glue

I hope you enjoyed today’s card. Come back soon to see the other cards we made in this class. My beginner class will meet again in June, so stay tuned. Email me or leave a message if you would like to know more about my beginner class.

Happy Stamping everyone! Donna 🙂

Fun Folds · In My Thoughts

What Could be Better Than Boho Blue, Basic White & a Fun Fold Card

One of my recent posts was a sympathy majestic fun fold card. I love this fun fold so much, I had to make another one. It looks elegant, but it’s so easy to create. Each of my posts this month will feature at least one of Stampin’ Up!’s soon to be retiring products. This card’s retiring products include Poetic Expressions DSP, Thoughtful Expressions Dies, and Boho Blue 2023-2025 In-Color Textured Ribbon.

A new annual catalog comes out in May. The annual catalog and current mini catalog last chance sale begins April 9th. Buy early…before items sell out! The Last Chance list will be posted on my blog on Wednesday afternoon.

Beginning with the new catalog, I will be hosting/teaching a card class for beginners in May. You will get supplies to make & take 4 cards/envelopes. Depending on the package you select the cost will be $10 or $12. Please let me know if you would be interested in an in-person card class. It will be great fun and you may sign up a friend too. This will be the first in-person class I’ve hosted since COVID began. I’m looking forward to seeing you and hoping for a great turn out. If there are any types of cards you would like to make, please let me know.

If you like this card or would like cutting dimensions, please leave a comment. As always…Happy Stamping! 🙂 Donna

Sympathy Cards

More Sympathy Cards…Two and Three

Hi Everyone! I mentioned in my last post I’ve had to make several sympathy cards lately. All three cards are posted on my Facebook page Donna’s Love at First Stamp. On this post are cards two and three. I made the first card as a trifold fun fold card, and the second is a regular fold card using embossing, dies, and Stampin’ Write Markers to stamp the flowers on the card.

The trifold card is a monotone card in Pretty Peacock. I used the Layered Florals 3D Emobossing folder and Hello, Irresistible 6″x6″ DSP to decorate the card. I had a bit of shimmer paint leftover from another craft project I had made, so I dry stippled it over the embossed flowers for just a hint of shimmer. I used the Thoughtful Expressions stamps and dies to stamp and cut out the flowers. I went over the flowers with a bit of Wink of Stella, then using a Q-tip softly colored them in with Soft Pastels.

My last sympathy card is not a fun fold, although I think it’s just as interesting. This card was a color combination of Moody Mauve, Basic White, and Pretty Peacock. I used the retiring Basic Borders Dies and the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder to give this card lots of texture and personality. I stamped off the leaf in Pretty Peacock. The flower from the Inked and Tiled stamp set was stamped by using a Pretty Peacock and Moody Mauve Stampin’ Write Marker on the stamp, then stamped it onto the paper. I finished off the front with a few 2023-2025 In Color Dots in Moody Mauve. I used the same technique for stamping off the leave on the interior, as well as the marker technique for the flower stamp on the interior and the envelope.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my cards today. I pray I do not need to create any more sympathy cards for awhile. As always, Happy Stamping! If you like my cards, please drop me a like/comment. Also, like my facebook page Donna’s Love at First Stamp.

Happy Stamping everyone! Donna 🙂

Designer Series Paper (DSP): If using kit – Cut lavender DSP to 3/4 x 5-1/4″ and Crumb Cake Dots – 3″ x 5-1/4″. (If not using kit, substitute any two patterned DSP – Cut to same measurements

listed, you will also need a floral DSP for the center tag cut to 2-1/8″ x 4-1/4″

Note: If not using the kit, you will also need Basic White CS to stamp flowers and leave sprigs (may use the Bough Punch as an alternative)

Other Kit Items Needed: 1 – Lavender sprigs, 1- Garden Green sprig; 1 – Lavender pre-punched tag

Inks: Pretty Peacock and Gorgeous Grape

Embellishments: Purple Fine Shimmer Gems;  Paper Butterfly Accent; Linen Thread; and Wink of Stella

Project Tutorial:

1. Fold the card base at 4-1/4″ burnish the fold with a bone folder. Then fold at the 3-1/4″ score line back so card opens like a book and burnish the fold

2. Place 2-3 rows of Tear & Tape on the interior bookbinding hinge. DO NOT remove the Tear & Tape covering – Do Not adhere the hinge at this point.

3. Cut LInen thread long enough to completely wrap around the card and have enough to tie into a bow or knotted. Then, remove cover of one Tear and Tape (center one if you used 3) to secure the linend thread. Once linen thread is secured, remove the remaining Tear & Tape covers and secure the hinge completely down.

4. Using the small piece of Gorgeous Grape CS – crop using the love die from the Paper Pumpkin Add-on The Love of Spring Dies. Also Crop Basic White CS that the “love” will be attached to. (I used the smallest rectangle die in the Thoughtful Expressions dies #162821)

5. Adhere the pieces of Gorgeous Grape CS to the DSP. Adhere the lavender/DSP thinner piece to the bookbinding. Adhere the Crumb Cake CS/DSP Piece to the book front. card base. Using tape or glue adhere the multi-flowered DSP and white square together, then center on the card and adhere.

6. Adhere floral tag to center of book front. Then adhere leave sprig and lavender sprig with glue dots.

7. Sponge daub butterfly accent in coordinating colors. Adhere finished butterfly to upper right on floral tag. Then use Wink of Stella on the butterfly and the lavender sprig to add a little shimmer.

8. Stamp the basic white tag in Gorgeous Grape using the “with” sentiment on upper center of tag. Attach the cropped “Love” to the white tag at an angle. Attach finished sentiment tag to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

9. Add three purple fine shimmer gems in a vertical row on the book spine in the upper right side. Then stamp the interior of card with sentiment of your choice. I used the “Just for you” from the So Sincere Cling Stamp Set, #162283, and the Happy Valentine’s Day stamp from the kit.
